The ex-Black Eyed Peas singer and the All My Children alum started dating in 2004 when the group appeared in Josh’s show Las Vegas. The two became engaged in 2007 and married in 2009. Fergie gave birth to their son Axl in 2013. Though four years later, the two announced that they would be separating. Their divorce was finalized in 2019, though the two root each other on even if they are apart.

How did Fergie react to Josh Duhamel and Audra Mari’s pregnancy? On Audra’s Instagram post announcing the pregnancy, Fergie wrote in the comments, “I am truly happy for you guys🥰🥰 Axl can’t wait to be a big brother.”
The former couple announced that they were separating in 2017. “With absolute love and respect we decided to separate as a couple earlier this year,” they said in a joint statement at the time. “To give our family the best opportunity to adjust, we wanted to keep this a private matter before sharing it with the public. We are and will always be united in our support of each other and our family.”
The news came gradually after they realized things didn’t work out in the long run. “They took their time figuring things out and making sure this was the right decision,” a source told E! News. “They had a long separation to see if there was any chance of things changing. Over time, it became clear that they had made the right decision and that it was time to move on.”
The source continued, “They love each other dearly and they have a great relationship since separating. But they needed to finalize things so they could truly move on and close that chapter of their lives. There was no culprit, it was just time.”
Rest assured, the two remain close. “We’re great friends, Josh and I, there’s so much love that we have for each other,” Fergie told Entertainment Tonight in 2017, “We really like each other, we have fun with each other. We’re just not a romantic couple anymore.”
Josh and Audra tied the knot in September 2022. They married less than a year after his romantic proposal on the beach. The happy couple exchanged vows on September 10 in Josh’s native North Dakota with sources telling People that the pair had “a great time”, but maybe a little too much fun the night before.
In an interview with Vogue Australia, Audra said her husband-to-be had to go to the emergency room the night before they exchanged vows because he’d been “pulling some wild dance moves on the party bus” causing a slipped disc. “Cue the cortisone shot and let’s get married!” she recalled saying at the hospital. Josh pulled it together for the big day though, with the pair exchanging vows in their beloved Fargo, North Dakota. “We knew we wanted to get married in Fargo,” Audra said. “It was the most important thing for us. Not only is it home to us, but it was so convenient for everyone we love to get to. I guess the romantic in me always feels like we’re just two small-town kids from North Dakota who found each other in Los Angeles. But we will always always be home, no matter where we are in the world.”
Josh gave great advice for co-parenting with an ex. “I would say to anybody who’s going through it, do whatever you can to keep it simple, because the only ones you’re hurting are the kids,” Josh told E! News in March. “It’s really important that they see two people who, even if not together anymore, can still work together and be good parents. Just make sure that no matter what, even if you have differences, you don’t have to air it out in front of the kids.”
Shortly after his divorce with Fergie, Josh expressed his desire to expand his family on Dax Shepard‘s Armchair Expert podcast. “I’m not 30 years old anymore. I’m 45. I want to have more kids,” he said, “in the next few years. So it’s more about finding someone young enough to have kids?”
“It’s not as if I am out there trying to just f–k anything,” he continued. “I want to find a girl that I can be with and have a family with. Because, Fergie and I have a great relationship. I love that girl and I always will. Unfortunately, we didn’t work, but I will always have her back and she is the mother of my baby.”
